Muslim chaplain probe demanded

Congresswoman points out appointments were approved by convicted al-Qaida ally

WorldNetDaily

Fearing the radicalization of U.S. soldiers, the leader of the Congressional Anti-Terrorism Caucus has called for a government investigation of all Muslim chaplains serving in the U.S. military to determine whether they have ties to radical Islamic groups.

Rep. Sue Myrick, R-N.C., says the Pentagon has failed to vet properly the Muslim chaplains ministering to U.S forces since it first set up its Muslim chaplain corps 15 years ago.

The military chaplains were approved by a convicted terrorism supporter who at the time headed the American Muslim Council. Abdurahman Alamoudi is now serving a 23-year prison sentence on federal terrorism charges.

The U.S. Department of Treasury in 2005 announced in a statement that "Alamoudi had a close relationship with al-Qaida and had raised money for al-Qaida in the United States."

According to Myrick, the chaplains he sponsored have not been re-screened since his sentencing.

"Alamoudi placed Muslim chaplains throughout the military. He is now in jail on charges of terrorism," she said. "The chaplains to my knowledge are still in their current positions."

Myrick added that "while there may be nothing wrong with the Muslim chaplains that he approved, it seems logical that our government would re-check the chaplains who were approved by a convicted terrorist."

In January 2007, Myrick founded the Congressional Anti-Terrorism Caucus. The bipartisan group, with more than 120 members and headed by Myrick and Reps. Bud Cramer, D-Ala., and Jane Harman, D-Calif., was formed to allow members to meet with terrorism experts and become educated about the dangers radical Islamists pose to America.

The caucus meets twice a month and hears from terrorism experts, including Ken Pollack, Steve Emerson, Walid Phares, Gen. Anthony Zinni and Lawrence Wright.

Myrick, who is up for re-election this year, has been working on numerous issues related to radical Islamists, such as writing letters to the Department of Justice and FBI taking issue with their outreach to radical groups, as well as looking into similar issues at the Pentagon.

Myrick's call for a formal probe of Muslim chaplains coincides with her release of an ambitious 10-point legislative agenda, dubbed "Wake Up America." She says Washington is not doing enough to protect the nation from the threat from radical Islam, and the public as a consequence has grown complacent.

"People would rather watch 'American Idol,'" she said.

She also is calling for a government investigation of all U.S. prison chaplains who were approved by Alamoudi. At least one Muslim cleric who contracted with the Federal Bureau of Prisons in New York had supported al-Qaida and the 9/11 hijackings.

US to show evidence of Syria-North Korea nuke collaboration

By PAMELA HESS, Associated Press Writer

U.S. intelligence officials on Thursday were showing members of Congress a videotape and other evidence supporting their case that Syria was building a nuclear reactor with North Korean assistance before it was bombed by Israeli planes last year.

Intelligence officials who have seen the evidence consider it "extremely compelling," a U.S. official said, adding that it was gleaned from a variety of sources, not just Israeli intelligence. The official spoke on condition of anonymity because of the sensitive nature of the information.

White House press secretary Dana Perino said the Bush administration would issue a public statement later in the day.

CIA Director Michael Hayden and other intelligence officials went to Capitol Hill to brief Congress on the evidence related to the bombed Syrian facility, scheduling appearances before the House and Senate armed services, intelligence and foreign affairs committees.

The Syrian reactor was similar in design to a North Korean reactor that has in the past produced small amounts of plutonium, the official said. It was not yet complete but was far enough along to demonstrate a resemblance to the North Korean reactor at Yongbyon.

The official said no uranium — the fuel for a reactor — was evident on site.

Syria's U.N. Ambassador Bashar Ja'afari on Wednesday denied his country has any undeclared nuclear sites and denied cooperating with North Korea on a new reactor.

"We said it many times in the past. There were no Syrian-North Korean cooperation whatsoever in Syria, and we deny these rumors," Ja'afari said.

Syria has not declared the alleged reactor to the International Atomic Energy Agency nor was it under international safeguards, possibly putting Syria in breech of an international nuclear nonproliferation treaty.

Plutonium-producing reactors are of international interest because plutonium can be used to make high-yield nuclear weapons or conventional bombs that disperse radioactive material when they explode, rendering an area potentially unsafe for humans for years.

Israeli warplanes bombed the site in Syria on Sept. 6, 2007. Private analysts said at the time it appeared to have been the site of a reactor, based on commercial satellite imagery taken after the raid. Syria later razed the site. A new, larger building has been constructed in its place.

Commercial satellite imagery from January analyzed by the Institute for Science and International Security in Washington shows the new building is 60 meters by 60 meters, compared to the original 47-by-47 building that was destroyed last year. It has a vaulted roof, different from the original flat roof. It appears to be connected by a series of trenches and pipes to a possible water treatment facility. CONTINUED

Yemen’s MPs debate female circumcision, pre-marriage tests

How can this even be an issue. This is proof that Islam is still in the dark ages. So they hold off this process for now in Yemen. How about the other many Muslim countries and individuals who practice this inhumane torture? The observant practitioners of Islam will NEVER accept change.

Yemen Times Staff

SANA’A, April-13 — Preventing female circumcision and pre-marriage medical tests evoked turmoil and disagreement among Parliament members (MPs) in last week’s session.

The session ended with a unanimous agreement to cancel the term 3, which would prevent female circumcision, and delay the discussion of pre-marriage tests.

The two terms were part of a draft written by the Safe Motherhood Law Project, and introduced by the heath committee inside Parliament.

Najeb Ghanem, the Chairman of the Health Committee in Parliament, expressed his sorrow over the way Parliament discussed the two issues.

“These two topics are very important for guaranteeing women’s rights in Yemen,” he commented in a phone call to the Yemen Times after the session.

According to Ghanem, who belongs to the Islah party, most of the MPs who disagreed with the terms represent the conservative attitudes of most Yemeni citizens. “The committee is aware of the Yemeni conservative community’s positions on these issues. So we [the committee] suggested applying the law of emphasizing pre-marriage medical tests after ten years… that is after we carry out extensive awareness campaign to educate people about the importance of such tests.” CONTINUED

Terrorist who has nothing to do with Islam calls on Muslims to turn mosques, schools, factories, universities into "centers of support for jihad"

Could just as well be a Methodist

(Jihad Watch) Now that the EU has strongly denounced those venomous people who insist on linking Islam with terrorism and have made it European dogma that terrorism has nothing to do with Islam, I wonder if they will issue a condemnation of Al-Zawahri as an...Islamophobe.

Meanwhile, his call to do this will be heeded insofar as Muslims accept his claim to represent the truth of Islam. But that is the one element of the jihadist appeal that analysts almost uniformly ignore.

"Al-Zawahiri Calls On Muslims To Turn Mosques, Schools, Factories, Universities into 'Centers of Support for Jihad,'" from MEMRI (thanks to LGF):

On April 18, 2008, Al-Ikhlas and other Islamist websites posted an audio message by Al-Zawahiri, produced by Al-Sahab, titled "Five Years after the Invasion of Iraq; Decades of Oppression by the Tyrant." Al-Zawahiri states that the Democrats in the U.S. are deceiving their voters when they promise to withdraw U.S. troops from Iraq by forming an understanding with Iran. This understanding, he says, is meant to allow the Americans to focus on fighting Al-Qaeda and the Taliban in Pakistan and Afghanistan, but will in fact only "only serve Iran's interests in the region and add fuel to the fire."

Al-Zawahiri also discusses what he calls the Muslims' longstanding economic crisis and political oppression at the hands of the Arab regimes, particularly the Egyptian government. He calls upon the Muslims to take matters into their own hands, saying: "Rights are not granted, but are claimed by force."

He concludes by urging Muslims to take to the streets, and to turn their mosques, schools, factories and universities into centers of support for jihad and resistance.

Carter, hold your peace!

His Mideast meddling dangerous
By Cliff May

L
et’s be fair to Jimmy Carter. Let’s suppose he isn’t indulging in egotistical grandstanding, that he doesn’t harbor a deep-seated bias against Israel and that the millions of dollars Islamists have provided to his Carter Center haven’t influenced him. Let’s suppose his freelance diplomacy is sincerely in pursuit of the elusive path to peace in the Middle East.

Even so, why in the world would he pay a courtesy call on Khaled Mashaal? Mashaal has claimed responsibility for organizing numerous suicide bombings, slaughtering mostly Israeli civilians but Americans too.

The head of Hamas’ politburo, Mashaal lives not in Hamas-ruled Gaza, from which missiles rain down on Israeli villages daily. Nor does he live in the West Bank, which is controlled, more or less, by Fatah, Hamas’ rival. He resides instead in Syria, a guest of dictator Bashar al-Assad, Iran’s client, who for the past five years has facilitated the flow of al-Qaeda combatants into Iraq. CONTINUED

Join The Resistance

In the years since the September 11th terror attacks a growing movement of grassroots organizations has formed to fight against the Jihad. A Jihad which is being fought against the West on many levels. Yet in the years since 9-11 the movement against the Islamic Jihad has lacked cohesion and communication. That is until now. Many have begun to call the many groups that make up the growing movement against Jihad the Resistance. The UAC is proud to host a wonderful resource and networking website that lists the many groups involved in what is now known, and shall forever be known in the future, as the Anti-Jihad Resistance. http://www.AntiJihadResistance.com

The Issue:
This Spring, the Senate is expected to vote on a Global Warming bill (Lieberman-Warner) that will impose a $1.2 Trillion tax on the American people -- all in the name of Al Gore’s unfounded Climate Alarmist agenda.

Saudi Arabia: Young woman married at 10 years old, must pay to obtain divorce

This little girl's nightmare is brought to you by our Saudi friends. How could we ever deal with these people? This judge is just as sick as the law that permitted this marriage to begin with. Islam, a peaceful and decent religion?

Riyadh, 18 April (AKI) - A 23 year old girl, forced to marry at ten in Saudi Arabia was ordered to pay the equivalent of 16,750 euros to obtain a divorce from his husband, according to Saudi daily al-Watan.

The girl, deemed as a 'rebel' by a judge in the capital, Riyadh, was forced to marry a 67-year-old man due to her family's economic problems, in exchange for a dowry of 100,000 Saudi riyals (16,750 euros).

According to the judge, the girl does not have any grounds for divorce, but if she wants to divorce the husband, she must return the dowry given to the family 13 years ago.

The father of the girl, regrets having married her daughter so young, saying "I made a mistake by forcing my daughter to marry. If she wants to re-marry, it will be her decision who to do it with."

The father of the 23-year-old woman also pleaded for help in order to collect the 100,000 riyal dowry that must be returned.

"I ask those who have the possibility to help my daughter to find the money needed to return the dowry. I cannot help her because our family does not have the economic means," concluded the father.

On Wednesday, a court in neighbouring Yemen annulled the marriage of an eight-year-old girl and a 30-year-old man.

The girl alleged her husband had beaten and raped her although under Yemeni law a groom is not allowed to have sex with his child bride until she reaches puberty.

Yemen is one of the world's poorest countries.

Iran prefers Obama

http://www.jihadwatch.org/archives/020712.php

(Jihad Watch) Like Hamas, they know a new Carter when they see one. "Iran Avoids Support for US Presidential Hopefuls," from the Fars News Agency (thanks to Marina):

TEHRAN (FNA)- Iran said on Monday that it does not back any of the US presidential candidates but does hope the election will bring a change in Washington's foreign policy. "Iran would not support any candidates in the US presidential campaign," Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesman Seyed Mohammad Ali Hosseini said during his weekly news briefing.

"But the nations of the world are fed up with America's warmongering policies and we demand these change."

Earlier in March, Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad told the Spanish El Pais newspaper that the real circles of power in America would not allow Senator Barack Obama to enter the White House, adding that he would have no problems if the junior senator from Illinois were to be elected.

Both Democratic Party candidates have called for direct talks with Iran over its differences with the US including its nuclear program which Washington alleges is for military purposes, while Tehran vehemently denies the charge, saying the program is for peaceful purposes such as generating electricity....

Documentary against radical Islam

Attention Patriot76ers, please help the UAC get this project started.

Documentary against radical Islam

The United American Committee wishes to embark on an endeavor to film and produce a documentary on the subject of radical Islam. The specific focus will be on what life is like for non Muslims to live under Islam. Many uninformed individuals believe that life under Islam would be decent for non-Muslims, believing that it is just like any other religion. The reality is that Islamic law dictates a cruel and intolerable life for non-Muslim subjects under Islamic rule. Our documentary will span that of the life of non-Muslims in the middle east, as well as Europe in heavily Islamic regions such as Kosovo and certain neighborhoods in France, and even how life has changed for some people here in America in regions with heavy Islamic populations.

WE NEED YOUR HELP TO MAKE IT HAPPEN!
The UAC wants to raise $10,000 for this project so that we may begin production on our documentary by March of this year. Please send your contributions, which are fully tax deductible, to the address below.

Reconquista. The vodka of campeones

How much bold Aztlan BS should we tolerate? Now we'll have to drive over broken Absolut Vodka bottles at Home Depot. Wake up people! Did you fail geography? This is the map of the mythical nation of Aztlan. It is a threat to the USA. The movement is growing. For the last seven years I really believed it was just a small fraction of ignorant individuals who fell for this. I was wrong. The support of this myth by a major Vodka distributor will give creditability to this anti American movement. If you don't believe me, check out La Voz de Aztlan. The name of the vodka says it all "Reconquista"(The Reconquering). You don't even have to look at the map.

British Muslims 'planned to kill thousands by bombing SEVEN transatlantic airliners in one go'

(Daily Mail) A British terror gang plotted to use liquid explosives to blow up transatlantic passenger jets in mid-flight, a court heard today.

Eight men planned to smuggle bombs disguised as soft drinks on to flights from Heathrow to the United States and Canada and detonate them on board, Woolwich crown court was told.

It would have caused a civilian death toll on an "almost unprecedented scale" and a "global impact".

The gang allegedly targeted seven flights operated by Air Canada, United Airlines and American Airlines. [...]

Peter Wright QC, prosecuting, said they had planned, "all in the name of Islam", to carry out a "series of coordinated and deadly explosions" and were "indifferent to the carnage" that would have been caused. [...]

"At the very least" seven planes would have been targeted, Mr Wright said.

The jury heard that the gang planned to smuggle components of the homemade bombs on to the flights as "innocuous hand luggage".

The court heard the bombers intended to use hydrogen peroxide and mix it with a product called Tang, used in soft drinks, to turn it into an explosive.

They intended to carry it on board disguised as 500ml bottles of Oasis or Lucozade by using food dye to recreate the drinks' distinctive colour.

The detonator would have been disguised as AA 1.5 batteries. The contents of the batteries would have been removed and an electric element such as a lightbulb or wiring would have been inserted.

A disposable camera would have provided a power source.

"These items would have the capability of being detonated with devastating consequences," said Mr Wright....
